The first of a new collection of Mosaic Planters and Pots by artist, Johannes Dreyer. Each tiny tile is hand-cut and then placed, mimicking African basketry. The process is however more time-intensive and mathematical than basketry. Dreyer’s assertion that he is the ‘White Christian Slave’ subverts the economics of curio buying and presents us with an
extraordinarily detailed collection. The Planter on the far left is 50H X 24W and mosaicked in 5c pieces.
