Mars by Alex Albertyn
African Contemporary Emporium, Mars leads the way in presenting whismical, even challenging mutations of African archetypes, playing with colour, species, and antiquity to forge a New African Art |
Okechukwu’s Giant Neckpieces
across his work in Ghana two years ago, I was blown away, not only by its dramatic scale, but also by the power of the pieces and its commentary on adornment. Okey since came to South Africa to be part of the DNA workshops I coordinated with Trevyn McGowan, and we are privileged to have some of his pieces in our 44 Stanley Store and at the All African Spaza we run at Arts on Main. Contact us for more images of his work. |
